Obituary

Partner Mapleside Sugar Bush
At the Ottawa Hospital-General Campus, with her family at her side on Thursday February 11, 2021 at the age of 70 years. Carol Anne Bonenberg (nee Welch) of Pembroke, beloved wife of Ray Bonenberg. Loved and cherished mother of Darren Bonenberg (Nicole) of Kingston and loving grandmother to Amelia and Clara. Dear sister of Cecelia Sloan (Dennis), Elizabeth Potvin (Marcel) both of Sudbury, Catherine Welch-Groves (Richard) of Ridgeway, Mary Kantovaara (Juha) of Sault Ste. Marie, Fred Welch (Janine) of Niagara Falls and Jack Welch of Thunder Bay. Predeceased by her brother Gordon Welch and her parents John (Jack) and Colleen (nee McCarthy) Welch. Numerous nieces and nephews will miss her dearly. Respecting Carol Anne’s wishes cremation has taken place.

A community leader and devote volunteer all her life, she will be missed from far and wide. She never looked for recognition and she was a valued friend and helper to so many people. As she always said….”you do what you gotta do”….and she did it well.

A Celebration of Life will be held in the fall at Mapleside Sugar Bush and will be announced. In memory of Carol Anne donations to Ottawa Regional Cancer Foundation would be appreciated by the family. Arrangements entrusted to the Murphy Funeral Home, Pembroke.
