It is with enormous sadness that the family of Dorothy Eleanor Goudie announce her passing on October 25th, 2020 at the Ottawa Hospital-Civic Campus. Dorothy will be lovingly and forever missed by her husband Keith of 62 years, and by her children Donna Touchie (Michael), Paula Norlock (George), and Dean Goudie (Nadine). Dorothy cherished her four grandchildren; Stephanie Norlock, James, David, and Sarah Goudie. There are no words to express the immense love, pride, and devotion she felt for them.
Dorothy was born in Pembroke Ontario, the daughter of the late Ernest and Anne Wilson. As a young girl she resided in Ottawa with her family and later moved back to Pembroke. Dorothy was predeceased by her sister and best friend Margaret Fraser. Dorothy treasured her many friends, cousins, and neighbours. Dorothy had a great love of music and books. She was a voracious reader and passed on her love of reading and music to her family.
The Goudie family wish to thank the many Ottawa Hospital staff who cared for Dorothy over the past several months. The family wishes to acknowledge the compassionate and dedicated care provided during her recent hospital admission by the nurses and physicians affiliated with the Geriatric Unit, Intensive Care Unit, and the Acute Monitoring Unit of the Ottawa Hospital-Civic Campus.
Due to the COVID-19 social distancing guidelines the visitation and funeral will be private. In lieu of flowers; donations can be made to the Leukemia and Lymphoma Society of Canada; The Canadian Celiac Association; or the Canadian Cancer Society.
