Obituary

Passed away peacefully at Marianhill, with his family, on Tuesday August 4, 2020 at the age of 90 years old. Desmond was the loving husband of the late Mary Lee (Ryan). Devoted father to Steve (Carole), Pembroke, Laurie (Tony), Killaloe, and Lisa (James), Pembroke. Cherished grampy to Lindsay (Jess) and Jamie (Misty). Proud great grampy (GG) to Lilly, Atlas, Ella and Carter. Desmond leaves to mourn his sisters Mildred Goldberg and Jean Lehman (Hep). Survived by sister-in-law Jackie Patterson. Predeceased by brothers: Delbert, Warren, Weldon, Willis and Keith. Desmond was the son of the late Mabel and Eckert Wagner. Desmond lived a quiet family oriented life centered around his wife, kids, grandchildren and great grandchildren, His greatest enjoyment was time spent fishing and in later years trips to the casino. He ran a very successful construction business for many years before a long and well deserved retirement. Desmond’s children want to thank the loving and devoted staff of Marianhill and especially D1 Wing. Also a big thank you to Dr. Hing, Kelly and his staff for years of excellent medical care. Cremation has taken place. As an expression of sympathy a donation to Marianhill Building Care Capital Campaign would be appreciated. Arrangements in care of the Murphy Funeral Home, Pembroke.
As the sun sets, we know dad is saying, “Just one more cast.”

As family we spent many fun hours at Uncle Dennis and Aunt Elsie’s “camp, swimming, walking the beach, playing charades, and of course Jim’s favourite pastime was fishing ❤️. I remember seeing Elsie, Mary Lee, my Mom, (Dot), and Aunt Aileen when she visited from Hamilton, in their trusty little boat and Jim steering them In anticipation to the best fishing holes ever! Many a journey they took, and we were often rewarded with the catch of the day, cleaned and made ready by a great man and fisherman, Jimmy Wagner!
Our thoughts, memories, prayers, hugs and heartfelt sympathy are with you all. ❤️
Bill and Cheryl
