I’m very heartbroken by the loss of my stepmom.
She stepped up to the plate and took over raising myself and my brother Mike when I was 10 and he was 8. It was a challenge for us all at first as this was all new to us all.
I will say she taught me manners, great fullness and my faith, my belief in God. She kept us going to church every Sunday even when I did not want to go!!Lol. She taught me Right from wrong even when peer pressure kicked in.( lots of groundings ) 😉.
She was a perfect role model, housekeeper, cook and baker. I remember coming home from school and sneaking into her baked goods before supper .
Growing up and married and a stepmother myself. I realized being a step parent was not all that easy. You learn to love that child as your own and Brenda did.
Most of all she mad my dad so very happy. They got to experience everything they wanted to do and a house full of love for each other.
She never forgot her grandkids birthday, easter, Xmas, graduation , anniversary for us.
I would like to thank the nurses and doctors that took great care of Brenda and my dad especially during this Coronavirus. I would also like to thank the Grant family for being there for my dad at this time as we can’t be there.
When my brother and I made it home in March we shared memories of us growing up that even I forgot. It was so nice ❤️
Thank you 🙏 and bless you.

I will always remember you matching your eyeshadow , lipstick, mascara, jewellery, and shoes to each outfit that you wore to work, family functions, and social events.
I will always remember your passion of shopping, especially for applicances, clothes, jewellery, purses, and shoes.
I will always remember your love of cooking, especially the traditional German coffee cake, desserts, potato salad, and coleslaw.
I will always remember your dedication to domestic chores, especially cleaning, ironing, and clothes washing.
I will miss you attending family dinners.
I will miss your love of coloured flowers.
I will miss your cards and gifts for my birthday and Christmas.
Mocha will miss your Christmas basket of dog toys.
I will remember that you and Mick attended my 2005 Bachelor of Education ceremony in North Bay.
I will remember you and I being a part of Connie and Steve's 2011 wedding party.

You fought a tough battle, but you are now at peace. You and Grandpa Grant will now be able to reconnect in heaven.

You will always be remembered, Aunt Brenda ("Aunt Lucy").

Love always and forever,
Niece Alanna Grant
