Dear Danielle , Brenda and family.
My intention was to attend the funeral but because of COVID regulations being increased, I am now not able to do that. I have been told that today's funeral will be recorded and shared by the Murphy funeral home. I look forward to that. I am so sorry that I cannot be there. Your mom and I shared so much through the writing world and enjoyed each other's company and email exchanges. She was a wonderful editor and edited two of my books. Two of my stories are in "Grandmother's Necklace", a book which has earned so much for the Stephen Lewis Foundation and for which she gave so much of herself. We all miss her. That wonderful wit of hers was priceless. I , unfortunately, did not know your dad well but I know they were a "perfect couple", so devoted to one another.

Patricia was a dear woman who will be greatly missed. My thoughts and prayers are with you all, at the loss of both Patricia and Robert.

I remember Patricia as a courageous and positive person, even in the face of adversity. Her faith showed itself foremost in her writing and her many posts on Facebook. We shared a love of poetry and she encouraged me in my writing and was an early subscriber to my monthly newsletter Finetuned. We worked together on Grandmothers' Necklace, and though she wasn't able to attend the Kitchener launch with us, she attended in spirit. Patricia will be missed. She was a soulmate. Carolyn Wilker

Patricia was one of the first writers I met when I moved to Petawawa in 2001. We instantly bonded as we had many things in common. we attended many events over the years. She was always willing to use her artistic talents to help at St. George's chapel and the writing groups plus the Grandmother group in Petawawa. She was one of the founding members of the Petawawa Grannies. She did much of the publicity as she designed the posters for our events and also created several of our unique table settings. Her lasting contribution was the Grandmother's Necklace book which she envisioned and created and edited. To date it has raised over $15,000 for the Stephen Lewis Foundation.
