It is with heavy hearts that we announce the passing of Maureen Grace (nee Freemark), surrounded by the love of her family, on December 26, 2019 at the age of 87 years. Beloved wife for 63 years of Pat Grace. Proud and loving mother of Nancy (Denis Levasseur), Janice (Brady Stewart), Karen (Darryl Thrasher), Michael (Karen Kaeding), Andy (Jeff Sansone) and Peggy (Andrew Howarth). Forever loved Granny of Luc, Jaclyn, Danielle, Brett, Blair, Krista (San), Devinne, Scott (Erica), Adam (Blaire), Megan and Brian. Great Granny of Oliver, Emma and Leah. Maureen was born in Renfrew ON to Thomas and Frances (nee Prince) Freemark. She is predeceased by infant son Joseph Terry, son-in-law Kirk Syrie and brothers Andy (Theresa), Stan (Frances), Philip, Lorne (Diana), Tommy (Della), Frank (Gert) and sisters Marjorie Humphrey (Herc) and Trudy Tomlin (Hank). Sister-in-law and dear friend of Louise Freemark. Maureen had a deep devotion to her family and faith, and her love had no bounds. She was the heart of her family, and they are forever grateful and blessed by her life. Maureen’s courage and strength in her final few months were an inspiration to all those around her. Maureen was an active member of Our Lady of Lourdes Parish and past President of Our Lady of Lourdes Catholic Women’s League and a long time Member of the Auxiliary of Pembroke Regional Hospital.
A special thank you to the physicians, nurses and staff of 2nd Floor Medical at the Pembroke Regional Hospital and staff at Marianhill.
Family and friends are invited to attend a Funeral Mass which will be celebrated on Thursday morning January 2nd at 11:00 o’clock in Our Lady of Lourdes Church, 280 Lourdesview Drive, Pembroke. Maureen’s family will welcome guests at the church starting at 10:00 o’clock. Spring interment in St. Francis Xavier Cemetery, Renfrew. In memory of Maureen, donations to Pembroke Regional Hospital would be appreciated. Arrangements in care of the MURPHY FUNERAL HOME, Pembroke.

Dear Pat and Family,
So sorry to hear about the passing of your beloved wife and mother Maureen. Noted here by sister Mary, I also hold several fond memories of your mom. Back in the day Pembroke’s Broadview & Howe Streets neighbourhood teemed with young families and rambunctious kids but somehow Mrs. Grace always remained calm and kind. Rest in Peace –Gary Labine

I am very saddened to learn of Maureen’s passing and the fact that I missed her funeral service. Maureen was very kind to me when we worked together at Hopkins office., and ANYONE would have to look very hard and long to ever find her face without a smile, always encouraging, supportive and understanding. Maureen’s laugh was contagious at the same time soothing and her vibrant personality a magnet to help those in need. Maureen’s backbone to help others was amazing, no one could have inspired me more than she, but her true light shone when she spoke of her family, her husband, her children and pets. Her blue eyes would more than sparkle, like stars in the sky as she spoke of her family, per pride and joy.

Many years have passed since those good old days, but the knowledge and inspiration passed on to me by this kind woman, are memories never to be forgotten. To her family and friends, my most sincere condolences.

Dear Uncle Pat, Nancy, Karen, Janice, Peggy, Michael, Andy and family,
Our deepest condolences on the loss of your Mom and our Aunt Maureen. We have such fond memories of her - such a gracious woman with a gentle nature and a laugh that made her blue eyes sparkle! I can imagine and hear Aunt Maureen with all of her brothers and sisters - our parents, aunts and uncles - jesting each other. laughing and playing cards up there.
