Obituary

In the early morning of Thursday October 31st, 2019, surrounded by her loving family, Aggie Pigeon, in her 69th year, was called home to be with her beloved husband of 39 years, Robert Pigeon. She will also be joining her loving parents, Enrica and Fiorello Luciani and her brother Luciano Luciani.
Aggie leaves behind her loving daughter Danielle and husband Ronnie, who cared for her throughout her illness. Aggie is also survived by her daughter Nadine Broy (Mike) of Windsor, her surrogate daughter Barbara Lundquist of Pembroke, her grandchildren Carter, Daniel (Tara), Gregory, Coty (Ashley) and Cassandra (Dakota), 9 Great-Grandchildren as well as 3 of her favorite people, June, Angela and Christopher Ciampichini. Together her family was able to find the joie de vivre in every moment. Aggie’s sparkling wit and infectious laughter ensured there were laughs and joy in every day.
Aggie had a wonderful career with the Renfrew County District School Board. Her legacy in Special Education will live on. Aggie supported hundreds of students with compassion and guidance. Her colleagues would say that education’s gain was Tim Horton’s loss!
Aggie will be missed by her dear friends; her “sisters”. Many gathered with her at her home in her last days to celebrate a life well-lived – a loss to all of us.
Cremation has taken place. Friends are invited to share their memories of Aggie with her family during visitation at the MURPHY FUNERAL HOME, 296 Isabella Street, Pembroke on Thursday November 7 2-4 and 7-9. A funeral liturgy will be held in The Chapel on Friday November 8 at 11am followed by a reception in the Murphy Reception Suite.
In memory of Aggie, donations can be made to the Carefor Lending Cupboard – a program that offers gently used medical equipment lending on a temporary basis to area residents at no cost, or the Ottawa Heart Institute.

Danielle,
Dick and I were sorry to hear that Aggie had passed away. We have some wonderful memories of her when she and Dick worked together. Each Christmas I make biscotti and I always think of her as she was the one person who could explain to me how it was to be twice baked and how it was to be placed. God bless all of you who will miss her. You have been a caring daughter to both Aggie and Bob.

When Aggie was a consultant, visiting various schools, she and I got together several times for lunch, I think usually at Danny's in Petawawa. I so enjoyed these lunches and got to know Aggie away from all the school board stuff. I often told her she should have gone into law and been a lawyer. I am not sure now why I said that, just remember saying it. She had a marvellous personality and a great mind. I enjoyed her immensely. What great memories ! When her Mom passed, I could see the pain that it caused in Aggie and I urged her to take time off. She did so, and I am happy for that ! I will never forget her. What a great gal she was !
