Harvey Schroeder
August 31, 1929 - December 6, 2018
It is with great sadness that we announce the passing of Harvey William Schroeder on Thursday December 6, 2018. Harvey passed away peacefully with his loving family by his side at the Pembroke Regional Hospital in his 90th year. Harvey was an amazingly strong man who fought bravely through several illnesses. He will be lovingly remembered by his wife and best friend Beatrice (Pita, Tootsie) Schroeder (nee Vereyken). Loving father of Jo-Anne Maheu (Charlie), Anna-Lee Dorzyk (Terry), Frank Schroeder (Sandra) and Darcy Schroeder (Nancy). Devoted and loving grandpa to Ashley, Amanda, Kellie and Devin and great grandpa to Lucas. Predeceased by infant son Frankie and grandson Shane. Harvey is survived by his sister Monica and brother Kenneth. He is predeceased by his parents Frank and Anna (nee Felskie) Schroeder and siblings Mamey, Harold, Darlene, Vernie, Rita, Eddy, Mildred, Alex, Laura, Dallas, Ethel and Marlene. Harvey devoted 40 years of his life working in the mines at Falconbridge and Inco. Harvey will be remembered for his great love of hunting which he passed along to his whole family. He loved spending time at the cottage and of course in his garage tinkering. Friends are invited to share their memories of Harvey with his family during visitation at the MURPHY FUNERAL HOME, 296 Isabella Street, Pembroke on Monday 2 - 4 and 7 - 9 p.m. and after 9:30 a.m. Tuesday. A Funeral Mass will be celebrated on Tuesday December 11th at 11:00 a.m. in Our Lady of Lourdes Church, Lourdesview Drive, Pembroke. Interment St. Columba’s Cemetery. The family wishes to extend a special thank you to Greg, Michael and Dr. Gagne and all the staff at the Pembroke Regional Hospital as well as to Bayshore Home Care. In memory of Harvey, donations to the Ontario Lung Association or the Canadian Cancer Society would be appreciated.

Dearest Aunty Pieta and your beautiful family..... it is with the largest heart felt ❤️ LOVE that we send this message of condolence to you! When I think of Uncle Harvey I smile right away! I loved his fun filled attitude! He always made you feel special and had his own personal twist on things! Yes would do anything for you if asked! Loved the way he always called Aunty Toots! I remember going to Sudbury and getting a tour of the Mines and seeing the Big Nickle, his love for tinkering could always be seen! That gift of tinkering was always appreciated as he would drive in the lane at the Regier farm and we would all cheer and run to the car door to see if he would take the time to get the skidoo or mini bike going.... we would cheer and then line up to go for rides around the front fiield.... three on the machine and three on the toboggan and the rest lined up waiting their turn.... he got more joy out of that then to be in visiting with the adults! We sure loved it! I have a very special memory of fishing on the pontoon boat! Tee hee! Memories are always so special and good ones will always be treasured! God Bless you as you join so many who have gone before you! You will be missed by many! With love the Troutman family!
